Description

Whether you have dabbled in a little bit of watercolour before, or you are brand new to this art form, this class is perfect for you.

Over two and a half hours, I will be taking you through the fundamentals of watercolour from colour theory to how to use the watercolour materials. I will guide you through the 9 most common watercolour techniques, blending, strokes, and layering. We will experiment with floral techniques from simple roses to more detailed peonies. I will work with you to create watercolour creations for to take home and admire your new skills.

This workshop is a relaxed group of 10 with plenty of one-on-one opportunity. You’ll be using quality studio watercolour materials, which will all be supplied.

What a special way to treat you and your mum this mothers day. Join Abi as she teaches you the amazing art of Dying fabric with natural flowers. Come and get messy with Mother Nature and explore the ancient art of using botanicals and food waste to create beautiful colours and patterns on natural fibres.

Come and get messy with mother nature and explore the ancient art of using botanicals and food waste to create beautiful colours and patterns on natural fibres. A multi-sensory experience that will enable you to slow-down and create mindfully.

Using the wonderful technique of bundle dyeing, we will use sustainably sourced and foraged materials to create a unique silk scarf.

Whilst our bundles steam and evolve, we will play with the magic of alchemy by introducing natural modifiers to create a rainbow of possibilities.

Abi will guide you through…

  • Suitable botanicals and foods and the colours they yield
  • Natural fibres and fabric preparation with mordants
  • Natural pH modifiers
  • The art of bundle dyeing through wrapping and steaming

This workshop is the perfect introduction to natural dyeing, producing eco-friendly textiles and adding colour to your wardrobe in a mindful and sustainable way. The bundle dyeing technique is an efficient and simple way to revitalise existing garments and create beautifully patterned fabric.

Description

In this workshop you will be guided through hand building skills of coiling and pinching; creating small cups and pots. This class is perfect for beginners and the skills can be applied to sculptural or domestic forms. You will also learn about the clay and materials used.
